Why Do Good Leaders Go Bad: Jann Freed at TEDxDesMoines

After interviewing 100 “sages” about leadership practices and traits, Jann Freed was able to uncover a simple but profound skill separating the good from the bad: great leaders look inside themselves and make a conscious effort to let go of their egos and inspire. Freed highlights the importance of slowing down to examine our actions and reactions so that we become the kind of people who we would want to follow.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
